Hello everyone. I am about to install a metal roof over my existing asphalt roof. I have a wood burning fireplace and I need some guidance regarding the chimney pipe. Should I attempt to cut away the raised "bell" part of the original flashing and then slide a new silicone boot over the chimney pipe or is there another way to mate what is already there with the new metal roof. The pipe itself is around 10" and the "bell" part of the original flashing is around 12" at the roofline and is a bit oblong. Thanks in advance for any guidance!
