I have had standing seam roofing installed around my existing skylights. I’m concerned about adequate flashing. I’m also unhappy about the aesthetics of the two horizontal seams above the skylights. Contractor said this was necessary to prevent leakage. I haven’t seen it done on other roofs.
Can you give me some advice on this.
Thanks
I live in SWFL went from shingles to 5v Galvalume we are @500 ft from canal. I am concerned the roof is not properly sealed, the inside foam was halfway used on outside and nothing inside. Just about every panel is cut on exposed ends and the screws are larger #10 I think, several have rubber peeled from washer or over tightened. Is cobra mesh acceptable for metal ridge vent? There is also excessive slopy use of calking and pretty sure they used no butyl tape. The same company did the roof nextdoor and it looks nothing like ours. They have replaced several panels with miss drilled holes, cut up caps, no ridge vents and it passed inspection like that. I am at a loss and don't know where to turn. I have looked up everything I can for codes and manufacturers but I'm left with more questions.
Thank you
