Strapping can be helpful at preventing the roof deck from getting quite as cold. A warmer roof deck then is less likely to get condensation on the underside. This is a little different than how some folks believe strapping to be helpful. For an uninsulated / unconditioned barn, I am not really sure the strapping is going to be helpful.
I've installed over solid roof decks and always used stopping @18" to allow for air flow, however the manufacturer is telling me its an unnecessary add on to the installation process.
The structure is an un-insulated barn. Deck underlayment is Tri-flex XT
The roof color is a dark brown. Am I overthinking this?
Todd Miller already explained it well.
