Are the purlin ends completely exposed? It may be too late but one option would have been to extend the roof deck a bit with another fascia board, and then bring the intake air up behind the new fascia.
Hi,
My roof has no soffits and the interior ceilings are vaulted. At the eaves edge it is a straight drop down the side of the house. I’ve put up ‘tin foil’ over the decking to reflect radiant heat and untreated (per manufacture requirement) wood purlins at a 45 degree angle so air flow can remove the heat in Summer and keep the deck cold in Winter. My question is….. where the drip edge meets the cleat at the eaves, how do I keep water from getting on the untreated wood purlins?
