I always encourage people to read and understand warranties before signing a contract. Many metal roofs are sold with no wind warranty. I suspect your roof was manufactured by a contractor who owns their own machine? Normally "plant manufactured" panels do have wind warranties of 100 - 150 mph. The wind warranty is typically supplied by whoever owns the machine that ran the panels.

I recently had a standing seam metal roof installed on top of solid tongue and groove decking. I am very satisfied with the workmanship and every other aspect of the job but now the warranty states the following.

This warranty shall not be applicable if damage to the System due to lightning, earthquake, hurricane, tornado, hail, fire, winds of peak gust speeds of 50 mph or other natural disasters

50 MPH seem a bit on the low side for a 24 gauge standing seam roof.

What should I expect?
