I would consider metal decking panels covered by insulation and a single ply roofing membrane.
I would like to construct a patio structure with a flat roof framed by a beam, similar to the pictures I've posted. Two things I would like to avoid are a drip edge over the steel beam framing the roof and roofing material being visible by someone standing on the ground 15' - 20' from the structure. The roof needs to be water tight because I plan to install a wood ceiling. Is metal roofing an option and how would you construct? If metal is not an option, any suggestions on other materials? It will be constructed in Phoenix, AZ.
