I have a question about my vents through the roof of my mobile home. I'm all electric. There's 5 vents in all,not counting the 4 attic vents. 2 for each bathroom,an exau
st vent and a pluming vent and about a 5'' vent, maybe a furnace vent, looks like over my central ac and heat unit. My question is can any of these vents be covered with metal if installing furring strips over shingles then metal,or do they all half to be vented through the top of the metal. Reason asking, is because i see alot of metal roof over shingles with no vents out the top of the metal roof what soever. Appreciate your advice. Thanks RD

Is there any way to ventilate the attic? That would be my preference. If ventilation is impossible, then more insulation should be more helpful than harmful. Installing the new roof on battens will also be helpful. You may want to consider a breathable underlayment on the decking as extra safeguard.

To meet building code, and to avoid condensation, these need to be vented to the outside.
