Its about time to change my roof and I am starting to incline towards Metal tile (or stone coated metal). There are not very many contractors who seem to be doing this in Seattle area.
My question is:
- Is this product good in rainy Seattle area?
- Is this really a life time product? (or more like marketing gimmick as in for 50 year composites)
Standing seam metal is not wife approved.
Current roof is cedar single (27 years old). Roof is 50sq. with high pitch. Metal

Can work very well. You need to confirm with the supplier that it is suitable for coastal (salt) air.
The coating technology has only gotten better in the last 20 years and there is no reason that it shouldn't (good product and installation) last 40+ years.
