I am planning on building a new deep red brick rancher and would like a Black roof- my plans include Spray foam insulation- my contractor asked me if I would be interested in a metal roof- would this be a good idea? With the spray foam would the black color be offset energy wise?

How complicated do you want to get with this? There are ways to create a more efficient roof system that could lessen or negate the need for spray foam.
