It is feasible and such things have been done before but it would be good to find and work with a metal roofing manufacturer willing to make perhaps a special narrower than normal hip flashing.

I'm designing a roof for a 16 sided (near circular) house. The roof consists of 16 triangular facets, with a pitch of 5:12. The pitch between facets however is only around 160 degrees. While I'd like to use a standing seam concealed fastener steel roofing system, is the angle between these facets too wide to use a typical hip roof construct- that is the hip seam is covered by ridge/hip flashing?
