I have a porch that was an addition to my house. Th roof buts up to the garage roof which is a very different slope. How do I transition from the shingled garage to the new metal roof I will be buying? also I was told it is ok to put metal on this roof. I dont know the pitch but it is pretty flat. about a 6 inch drop in 10 feet. Thanks!

That is a very low slope roof, necessitating a mechanically seamed standing seam roof if you go with metal. Make sure that the product being installed is approved for this application. You will need a transition flashing that goes up under the shingle roof and extends out onto the metal roof. The flashing must be positioned in a way that allows it to maintain positive pitch.
