Hi, I own a half of a duplex and would like to get metal roofing installed. My neighbors do not. I have talked to two contractors one who told me that he would not do just my half and that I would likely run into problems the other contractor said it would work perfectly fine. Can a roof be done 1/2 shingles and 1/2 metal? What would be the likelyhood of running into issues further on?

This can be done safely and successfully. The contractor should be able to show you exactly what they're going to do at the junction between the two roofs.
