Charlene, the picture you show, which is a simple roof line the waste should be less than 5%. For a complex roof area with dormers, hips and valleys the waste could exceed 30%.

I'm associated with Catastrophe insurance claims. Can you tell me please if there is a rule of thumb for calculating waste for metal roofs.
Corrugated metal; mostly used on agricultural structures... barns, sheds, etc

10% is our usual minimum waste and this would below that number.
