Most metal roofs are suitable for pitches as low as 3:12. It will take special profiles and products to successfully handle pitches of less than 3:12.

The building codes define the differance at 2/12 or 2 1/2/12 however it truly depends on the product. Remeber unlike asphalt shingles there are many varied styles and systems available in metal. Vertical rib panels can go as low as 1/2/12 however they have a higher rib/seam. The longer the roof rafters, the more water it must deal with as well. Pick a sytle from one of our members on the site, then contact them and ask about the limitations.
