Sealing ends of gable trim

Dave, I am sure what you mean by sealing of gable trim. What type of trim do you have? If it is a linear type, usually it is cut along the bend lines and bent over the end. But this is strictly a cosmetic seal not a weather tight seal. If it is a barrel gable trim the manufacturer would have a closure that would fit it. I am not sure if I answered your question. Pictures would help.

Dave, use what is referred to as an outside closure which is made of foam. . You could still cut along the bend lines and bend the trim to cover the foam.

Thanks for the quick reply. I should have included more details in my first post. I attached a schematic. I am using Metal Sales Classic Rib roofing with a 5 1/4" x 4" straight wrap over gable trim piece. The metal panels are sealed from insects using the inside closures at the eaves, but I am not aware of anything from the supplier to seal the ends of the gable trim at the eave.

It never even occured to me to do that. Sometimes when you get to close to things you can't see the forest through the trees. Thanks for getting me back on track.
