This can be flashed but the critical thing is making sure the standing seam is a mechanically seamed standing seam. The transition flashing needs to start fairly high on the roof so as to maintain a positive pitch.

I am an architect with a residential client who wants me to use a standing seam metal roof, 1:12 pitch, that will run perpendicularly into a 4:12 shingled roof. I cannot imagine how one would flash this valley considering the wind, snow and rain in our climate. Can anyone help?
