Since the installation of our metal roof over shingles it is cold inside this winter. Previously thermostat settings 68* day and 65* night was adequate. Now it's cold in here! Sue McCurdy Gainesville, FL

This is a good thing at the end of the day. The reason being is that the cooling degree season is far longer in FL than is the heating season. The higher reflectivity and emissivity of the metal roof is keeping the heat out of the shingles and therefore out of the home. You will appreciate this come the long and hot summers.
