No, it's probably a good idea. I would not use a granulated surface ice and watershield. You may want to consider a High-Temperature ice and watershield for extra safety.

I have a small roof 8' x 20' over a enclosed porch. I removed old shingles and installed osb over existing deck. Would like to install ice/snow gaurd over entire deck before installing metal roofing. Do you find anything wrong with this idea ?
