We are building a new home and want metal roofing. We are seriously considering putting the roof directly on purlins. A portion of the roof will be a cathedral ceiling with no "attic" space. What does our contractor need to do to prevent condensation? How can we vent well in the cathedral ceiling part? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you,

As a manufacturer of residential metal roofing, I strongly discourage this type of application. You would need to have great ventilation and/or spray the underside of the roofing with urethane foam.
I really really do not suggest doing this though on a residential application.
