Wow. It depends upon what type of roofing you're installing. The manufacturer though should have pre-formed trim pieces available for a nice look. If not, then I would suggest looking for a different manufacturer.

I'm putting up a modest shop and garage and I'm going to put metal on the roof. What options are available for flashing the roof to the rake boards? The last time I was involved in metal roofing the transition corner from the roof to the rake was not attractive to me.

Most manufacturers provide a preformed rake edge detail or you installer can form them on site via a metal brake.
