what is the correct way to install a standing seam roof...are there specific under layers to install before the metal roof goes on

Most products will require solid decking followed by underlayment for residential applications. However, always adhere to manufacturer instructions as well as to local building codes.

I would always recommend a solid deck (in residential applications) even when a panel manufacturer will allow for purlins to be used.
