There are plenty of these roofs up that are lasting and protecting very well. If properly installed and maintained, 30 years should be very possible.

I'm designing some add on roofing components that will need a metal roof with exposed metal fasteners. A concern that has been brought up is whether having exposed fasteners would compromise the roof such that it would not have a 30 year life. The fasteners would be typical for metal roofs installation; bonded washer head.

Done properly, the exposed fasteners should be fine.
If you can specify, I always prefer a hidden fastener system for a more permanent, maintenance-free application.
