Hello:
I have decided to re-roof my home with a metal tile roofiing system, leaving the old wood shingle roof in place. I understand this is a completely acceptable method and helps to improve the insulation factor of the roof. I was wondering however, if additional ventilation will be needed to ensure proper air flow?
Thank you,

Your old wood shingle roof probably breathed a fair amount. I would suggest working with your contractor and the roofing manufacturer to make sure that adequate ventilation of the attic will be a part of your new roof so as to avoid problems with heat and/or moisture build up in the attic.
