I'm installing Galvalume Acrylic Plus (thin clear coating) 'snap lock' panels on my house. I ignorantly used duct tape on the panels to hold down felt over the ridge in case it rained. The duct tape has left sticky residue on the panels. The supplier said to use a mild detergent, but this won't get the sticky residue off. The day before I talked to the supplier, I used WD40 on a small area .. the sticky is gone, but there is a dark residue now. What can I do to clean off sticky residue and to remedy this dark residue?
Thanks for any advise.

My number one advice is to contact the roofing manufacturer and ask them. That said, though, here are some websites that might be of interest:

http://www.drexmet.com/maintenance.html

I hope this helps some.

My posting was from 2001. Apparently the links have changed. What sort of info do you need.
