hi i see on all web sites that you say metal roofs insulate in the summer heat that is good but here in western oklahoma also the winters can get very cold does this type of roofing also insulate in the winter????? i would like an answer from some one that knows what they are talking about thanks

Metal panels do not "insulate" per se. The new cool paints reflect heat back into the atmosphere, which helps reduce energy consumption in predominately cooling load climates. In predominately heat load climates, it would actually be better to not use cool paint.
In climates that are about half and half, such as what you describe, I would use the cool colors in conjunction with a minimum 3/4 air gap and a radiant barrier insulation. This combination should give you the best energy efficiency for both summer and winter.
