I have a Cape Cod style house where the majority of the roof rafters have sheathing and asphalt shingles on the outside and drywall on the inside with about 8" of insulation between the sheathing and the drywall. If I were to install a vertical panel metal roof over the existing asphalt shingles, what is the best approach to avoid condensation on the underside of the metal roofing material?

Either ventilate the existing air chambers or build a new air chamber over the existing before the roofing is installed, and ventilate that with intake and exhaust vents.
