I am building a new building 2016sq.ft., we plan to
use metal on the walls and roof. I have had many
give their view on the best way to install the metal.
On the walls we have 7/16 waffer board with 2x4's
between the studs to screw to, and are going to
cover the outside with 30lb. felt, then the metal.
the inside will have 6 in. of insulation and 2 sheets of
5/8 sheet rock ( fire rateing). Am I going to have any
trouble with moister ? On the 4-12 pitch roof, some
tell me to deck it , others say to strip it with 2x4's
then insulation then metal. I will insulate the attic with
12in. of fiberglass. Planning to install gable vents and
sofit vents. I live apx. 60 miles west of Tulsa. What's
the best way to install the metal?

Current building codes require a minimum 1" vented air space between the bottom of the roof deck (or lathe of that is the case) and the top of any insulation or ceiling boards. In most cases, the most effective way to accomplish this venting is by a combination of soffit vents for intake and ridge vent for exhaust.
The issue of excessive moisture accumulation inside of buildings and resulting condensation is not related to metal roofing. The same situation exists regardless of roofing material.
As far as whether to install the roofing over solid deck or lathe, that is determined by the type of roofing panel you choose. There are many proven metal roof panels which are designed for installation over decking and underlayment. This question really would have to be posed by the manufacturer of the roofing product you choose.
All Best. Don't hesitate to contact me if I can be of further service.
