I recently installed a standing seam metal roof, snap-lock, with ridge cap. The state historic preservation office will not approve tax credits for this type of continuous ridge cap, and I was wondering if there is a known modification I can do, to achieve the folded ridge seam look? thanks

Wow. Ideally to do that you need the panels to be longer at this point, don't you?
Is the current ridge vented? If so, then their requirements are keeping you from venting per building code, correct? That doesn't seem right.

We manufacture a one-sided ridge vent that would work very well in this application. You can fold over the one side standing seam at the ridge and vent the opposite side. This allows the two interior attic spaces to breathe while exhausting air only out the one ridge side. This creates a 100% efficient ridge vent as opposed to the inefficiency of standard two sided lifted ridge vents that 'short-circuit' the siphoning effects of the hot attic air.
