Just drive out to the country and you see a lot of standing seam roofs, however in the city there is none. Is standing seam allowed in cities? Why is not used in cities? I like it because it looks nicer then shingles and you have a variety of colors to choose from. A few months ago I contacted a contractor and he wouldn't even entertain the idea of Standing Seam.

The contractor probably wouldn't entertain the idea because he has no experience with it. Do your homework as far as the hiring a contractor. Make sure your panels have a good kynar, duracoat pvdf finish they are very durable and have great color retinsion. Make sure you have at least a 26 gauge, 24 gauge preferred steel panel with a c grade. I see snaplock panels all over the city i live in and all over the country around it too.
