I have an L shaped 2,500 Sqr. Ft. House with a sheet metal roof. The sheet metal is riveted directly to the rafters. I have sofits and a vent at each end of the attic. My question is how much insulation should I have in the attic and should there be anthing added to help cirulate the air in the attic so the house will stay cooler?

My suggestion would be to have as many eave soffit vents as possible, cover the gable vents, and replace existing ridge with a ridge vent. I do not know what insulation may be required in your area but a strong amount of insulation is always a good idea. Todd Miller
