When I inquired about a warranty for my metal roof I was told that there is NO warranty. I read in the literature about this before I purchased the roof and now they tell me that there is no warranty. At least if I had used composition shingles the manufacturer would have a three to five year warranty. I would not recommend a metal shingle roof to any one based on the deceitful treatment I got from the manufacturer.

I am sorry to hear of this situation. However, I am certain that all MRA member manufacturers provide warranties on their products. Additionally, I do not know of any North American metal shingle manufacturer who does not warrant their products. Please give me a call at my office at 1-800-543-8938 ext. 201. I would like to discuss this further with you and see if there's any way I can be of service. Todd Miller Todd Miller

I have a Gerard steel roof with a warranty. It leaks bad and Gerard won't do anything about it. The warranty is worth about as much as bathroom paper.

We purchased a home approximately 6 weeks ago. the home has a metal roof, specifically under warranty with CHH Roofing formerly located in Houston, TX. The requirements of the warranty said to send the company a certified letter stating the change in ownership. A metal roof was installed in 1991. As specified in the warranty, I sent a certified letter. The certified letter was sent back to me from Houston, TX as "undeliverable" and as a "return to sender". I searched the web and could not locate that this company exists anymore. So, my questions are as follows: 1. Do you know if CHH Roofing, which used to make metal roof "shingles" is still in existence someplace else other than Texas? And if so, how can I contact them? 2. Now I have a roof which has another 12 years on the warranty with a company that no longer exists! What are my options? Please advise as I would like to know what my options are with this metal roof.
