We are installing a metal roof ourselves so this has definitely been a trial and error situation. Although we have so far, gotten all the shingles off, replaced any bad wood, put down the underlayment and hopefully will be ready for the metal soon.
The drip edge we used is galvanized. We put in on before we did the underlayment (TW Peel & Stick). Does it make a difference whether the drip edge is put on first or after? And does it make a difference what drip edge you use if your putting on a plain metal roof?

The drip edge should be installed first. If any ice and water build up should occur the moisture will follow the path down hill over the drip edge and on to your facsia metal.
