We are getting estimates for replacement of our rock roof. Our first contractor tells us that either standing seam, metal shake or metal tile could be used on our 2:12 pitch roof. We have an open beam ceiling and no attic. Is either product an option? Standing seam is much more expensive than metal shake and of course many times more expensive than traditional asphalt shingles.
Thanks.

I don't know of any metal shakes or metal tiles that will do that low of a slope, but some types of standing seam will. Look for either a mechanically seamed standing seam, or one with larger ribs.
Like Todd mentioned, check with manufactures on these.
