i live in truckee, ca where we get a good amount of snow. i have a standing seam metal roof (pic attached) with a 3 and 12 pitch, i believe. my problem is that snow sheds into the valleys and builds up. i am sure this is a common problem. the snow load begins to bow the roof and faschia. i am considering either heat tape or snowguards, any suggestions, insight, etc

Heat tape could be helpful. That is a tough situation though.
Making sure you have good attic insulation and ventilation, keeping the attic very cold, could be helpful as well.
