I am currently looking at replacing roofing over a 200,000 gal potable water storage tank. Old roof is comp shingle with wood deck. Tank is round, not a
big issue, however are there protective coatings which are NSF 71 certified for use in potable water.
Even though roof is not in contact, condensate forms
on roof and drips back into potable storage. Corrosion is compounded by wet environment and chlorine off gasses. Any suggestions?

I would coat the back side of the roofing with one of the NSF 71 certified coatings. Work with the roofing and coating manufacturer as necessary to determine appropriate application techniques.
