I am considering a new cool metal roof on an existing old building with composit shingles over laths. The building has minimal insulation and, with the suspended ceiling, I am unlikely to place insulation on the ceiling. Do you have a design that utilizes a metal roof, gap for ventillation and insulation attached to the rafters? Energy efficiency all year long is critical.

Can you just put sleepers on the existing roof over the rafters with insulation and vented airspace and then new decking, underlayment, and the metal roofing?
