Hi, We're renovating an old farmhouse and I would like your opinion on the asthetics of shingling the main house with asphalt and the wrap around porch with a raised channel steel roof. Any thoughts? I kind of like the idea of the end result not looking 'new' and that things evolved, but I'm concerned it might look hodge-podge. Thank you. Cindy

I have seen this done numerous times and it results in a very nice look. I was recently in some high end communities is a resort area that actually require homes to have 2 or 3 types of roofing, for aesthetics and design. Todd Miller
