I'm working on a project that is within a 1/4 mile of the coast in San Francisco, CA. We want to use a metal standing seam but also want to ensure longevity. I've been told that most paint companies will not warranty their product that close to the ocean because of the salt. What coatings or metals should I be looking for? Is modern terne or zinc best?
Thanks

The Kynar finishes do well and actually are usually warranted on the coast, provided they are on a non-ferrous metal such as aluminum. So, Kynar-coated aluminum is an option but so would be certain bare metals such as copper, zinc, and stainless (including terne coated stainless).
