We are planning to intall a metal roof (shake shingle shape) over 30# roofing felt over a 6 mil. poly vapor barrier over 3/4" exterior plywood sheathing. A friend of mine said we would be asking for condensation problems by installing the 6 mil. vapor barrier. Is this assumption correct? Thank you in advance for your answer. Bill C.

Generally the vapor barrier would be behind your ceilings. You may or may not be causing a problem with what you described. If you have very good attic ventilation you may be okay but, if not, this could cause troubles. Call me at 1-800-543-8938 ext 201 if you would like to discuss.
