Metal roof is fading badly. Very noticeable now that we've put an addition on the house. Original roof is almost 18 years old.
Is there a finish or paint that will work?

Anything will have color change over time from fading, chalking and even dirt accumulation.
More "saturated" and "intense" colors like reds, blues, and black are more prone to showing change over time.
Today's Kynar / Hylar finishes have excellent long term fade and chalk resistance though. I am guessing that, due to its age, your current roof is not of this type. Of course, lower quality finishes are still available today as well.
You may want to check into options for repating your roof particularly if the new roof is a Kynar system.
