Our project consists of replacing our existing roof with a new 26 gauge 5V crimp gavalume metal roof. One of the options given to us by our contractor at an additional cost is to use stainless steel fastners. We live within one mile of the Gulf of Mexico on a saltwater canal. Does it make sense to spend the extra dollars to use stainless given our location? Also, when I think of stainless I think of the metal having a more shiny appearance than the actual gavalume roofing material. Is there any significant 'color appearance' between the gavalume and the stainless fastners which might not look right when its all said and done? Thank you!
