The proplem i have is that in the winter the loft area suffers from condensation.
The loft area is also a living area.
The roof is made of steel profile sheets fixed to wooden joists with insulation between the joists the insulation has a vapour barrier on the inside not the roof side.
This has then been cladded in timber T&G
Would fitting vents solve the condensation proplems.

You have what we refer to as a vaulted ceiling. I believe you have heat loss migrating through the insulation and when it cools as it hits the metal roof it condensates. This requires a moisture barrier under the roof covering separating it from the insulation. Also you need to ventilate the space between the insulation and the roof cladding.

It would appear that the solution is to remove your existing roof covering, install the barrier and accomodate some ventilation before re installing the metal. You may also want to consider adding more insulation.
