We are building a new house and contracted with a reputable roofing company specializing in metal roofs. They delivered the roof but decided to have us complete the soffit/fascia & painting prior to installation. After lengthy delays (6 weeks) due to the workers and weather we are asking them to install the roof. The roofers are now concerned the roof which has been exposed to the elements and not covered could be rusted. How in the world can a galvanized roof be rusted in 6 weeks?

Panels should be stored in ways which do not trap moisture between or against panels. Prolonged trapped moisture can cause corrosion and possibly paint finish problems. A visual inspection of the panels should determine whether there are any problems. I suspect they are fine.
