I recently had a standing seam metal roof installed. There was a cricket on the roof and the contractor custom- made a piece of metal for this portion of the roof. During installation and after the panels were installed I noticed some ripples along the edges of the cricket which are still exposed. Additionally, I noticed some of the standing seams were dented during installation. I wanted to learn whether either of these minor defects these would cause future problems. Thanks for your help. You guys do a great job in responding to consumer issues and responding to our questions.

If the cricket is of any size then it is difficult to from a flat sheet of size and have it stay completely flat. First it is good that he put a cricket in and a one piece helps ensure that it stays water tight as it typically must shed a lot of water. It should not be anything more than an aesthetic issue. Same with the dents in the seams. They do happen especially when one choses a lighter gage material to save money. He should be able to take most of them out. Give him a call and explain your concerns politely and ask for his considerations to help ensure a continued good referrance on his work.
