Hi,
I love the look and idea of a metal roof but many people have told me it is not possible on a flat roof? Is this true?
Our home was built in 1948 and has tar paper. There is no crawl space or attic so a metal roof with some insulation would be helpful with heat control.
We live on a barrier island in a evacuation zone and are looking for something Hurricane resistant.

There are some commercial metal profiles that could work but they do need a little slope and while hurricanne resistant, they do cost more money. Unless you were to consider building the roof up to provide slope, you may be best to use one ogf the new single ply flat roof membranes installed over insulation.
