When there is a venting pipe going through a metal roof what is the best way to assure there is no leakage around pipe.

This depends a lot upon the type of metal roof that is being installed. For vertical seam panels, the Dektite brand or similar flashings work well. For many of the shingle tyle roofs, the neoprene and metal flashings work well or flashings can be custom-made as well. Todd Miller
