I am building a log home out of 2 100 year old log structures...I know I want metal but cannot decide on roof pitch...It will step down from a 2 story log to a 1 1/2 story log to a 1 story frame...what pitch would look good on all levels...AND be cost effective?

The steeper the roof pitch, the more material required but the longer it lasts. The better the material the longer it lasts. As well the steeper the roof, the less wind uplift and the better it sheds the elements. I always recommend a minimum of 6/12 and an 8/12 really shows the roof aff well.
