Please clarify the different finishes available with a steel core? and with an aluminum core? Is it correct that steel core metal roofing can have either have a galvalume coating or a painted finish? and aluminum core only comes with a painted finish and galvalume in not available?
Thank you.

There are two primary types of steel being used. Galvanized and Galvalume. Both have a carbon steel core. Galvanized has a primarily zinc coating on it and galvalume has a primarily aluminum coating on it. Both are commonly used in roofing with a painted finish. Galvalume is also sometimes used with a clear coat.
Aluminum roofing is typically painted.
