Question: what is the proper material for snow guards (snow brakes) mounted to the standing seams on a tin roof? On a quick look, I have found aluminum, painted or coated aluminum and copper materials. Is there any negative reaction between aluminum and tin similar to that between aluminum and copper? Please email your answer to [email protected] Thank you.

First of all, are you sure the other roof is tin? I am not sure that any metal roofing is made of tin. Generally, you want to have similar metals in contact with each other.
