Venting a pellet stove thru a metal roof. Double walled 3" pipe is used and must maintain a 3" clearence from all combustibles. This means on a regular wooden roof there must be a 9" hole cut to allow 3"'s around the entire pipe. When going through a metal roof can you just cut a 4" hole as long as there are no rafters within 3" ?

I am assuming you are referring to a metal roof that is not installed on top of solid decking. In that case, I would say "yes" to answer your question BUT I would contact the roofing manufacturer direct to make sure they agree. Todd Miller
